Growing up in a small, conservative, New Hampshire tourist town, Timo had the fortunate experience of coming of age on the campus of a prep school. Within an otherwise narrow landscape, this academic community provided substantial intellectual and cultural influences which would ultimately become the foundation for his creativity. In the early 80's he was consumed by the second wave of skateboarding as well as the emergence of hip-hop, reggae, and punk rock into popular culture. These influences combined to shape his aesthetic sensibility which still resonates with him today.

Though he embraced art as a very young boy, Timo first began his formal education and exploration into the arts while in high school at The Rhode Island School of Design summer studies program. While at R.I.S.D. the seed was planted for Timo's creative life pursuits. He went on to study at the Syracuse School of Visual and Performing Arts where he received his B.F.A. studying illustration design and fine art painting. Timo then moved to Chicago to enhance his personal style with the study of Buddhist Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Trading the windy streets of Chicago for the big, blue sky of Boulder, Colorado, Timo set out to pursue his love of painting and graphic design. Timo has since been represented by the Agora Gallery in NYC and the POP Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. His creativity has lead to a wide range of projects including a collaborated effort with Ralph Steadman for the Flying Dog Beer Company, book jacket illustration, corporate branding, package design, retail interior design, apparel design, web design, and private art commissions.

Timo's gallery work is primarily created with oils and mixed media on board. He fuses conceptual studies of composition, shapes, color, metaphors, pop symbols, icons, and the human condition. Timo looks to convey compelling themes within a narrative to inspire curiosity as well as a reaction from his overall aesthetic.
